On the banks of the river Ozon, between Privas and Montélimar, lays an old 18th century mill to welcome you to the Ardèche.


The building is constructed from local volcanic stone and was originally a small factory making silk thread.The estate is located on the gateway to Southern Ardèche, an ideal starting point for many discoveries in Vivarais, Vercors, Provence and Lubéron.

The factory, also called 'Moulinage', is a long building which used to utilise the stream water to drive the mechanisms.
This old mill of Champestève, located in the little village of St Lager Bressac, employed about ten female workers who lived on the spot. The mill manager lived in a flat situated upstairs. The arched room in the basement, whose temperature and hygrometry were constant, housed the mills.


At a later date a flour windmill was built beside the silk factory. Around 1925 after the demise of the silk industry, both buildings became disused and remained so until the present owners began restoration in 1983. They can now offer four 'chambres d'hôtes' graded '3 épis' as well as two gîtes graded '4 épis'.
